Brad Mehl

Brad Mehl, Managing Director

Brad Mehl has over 20 years of experience growing companies driven by technology, content and data. He has generated over $200 million in revenue for new products and accelerated the acquisitions of six companies for a combined $2 billion. His clients have included technology ventures backed by Google, private equity investors, mid-market and FORTUNE 500 companies.

As Chief Marketing Officer at Calvert Learning, he led the marketing transformation of a global education company in 90 countries. He also ran Calvert’s Marketing Services – a marketing agency for the company’s institutional clients. Before starting Boundless Markets, he was VP of Marketing and Analytics at Penton, a $400MM business information company.  There he led the marketing transformation of 60 brands with subscription-based content which grew digital revenue by 50%. He also led the company’s data strategy and ran the market research business.

As GM of ThomasNet.com, he overhauled an online marketing provider with 20,000 customers in manufacturing. At LexisNexis, he led marketing at Martindale-Hubbell, a leading provider of marketing solutions to the legal industry with 50%+ revenue growth. He also led strategy and marketing to expand the company into practice management software for law firms.

In his early career, he ran marketing at CDNOW, an e-commerce pioneer which revenue grew from $6MM to $100 million dollars in three years. He also spearheaded the company’s international expansion. His team pioneered online product recommendations and the company was acquired by Amazon.com. Brad and his team were named Marketer of the Year by Promo Magazine.

Mehl is a prolific writer and speaker. His newsletter is read by thousands and he contributes to Chief Executive, Chief Marketer and other publications. He is on the Board of the Software and Information Industry Association (Software Division), is on the faculty of the Content Marketing Institute and was a mentor at DreamIt Ventures. Certified in Demand Generation, he has used over 50 marketing, sales and analytics technology platforms. As an expert in audience insights, he has overseen 200+ market research studies across 20 industries for companies including Procter & Gamble, General Mills, The Prudential and others.

He has an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University, completed graduate work at Rotterdam School of Management in The Netherlands and has a B.S. from Cornell University.

Diane Pierson

Diane Pierson, Principal

Diane Pierson is an innovation expert and senior marketing executive who has delivered over $100 million in new product revenue in her career. Prior to Boundless Markets, she was Vice President of New Product Development at Infogroup Targeting Solutions, where she identified growth strategies to fend off emerging competitors. Prior to Infogroup she was Vice President of Marketing at Copyright Clearance Center, where she led product innovation, global expansion, demand generation and corporate re-branding.

She has also held senior marketing and product management positions at LexisNexis, Martindale Hubbell, R.R. Bowker, American Lawyer Media, VerticalNet and Dun & Bradstreet. Diane has a BA in English from Kalamazoo College, Kalamazoo, MI and an MBA from DeSales University, Center Valley, PA.

Lou Cassetta

Lou Cassetta, Principal

Lou Cassetta has vast experience in audience development, with B-to-B and consumer companies. He has been an innovator in creating online content strategies that grow the user base, acquire valuable data and create new revenue streams through product development. He is a member of the audience development committee with the BPA.

Lou comes to Boundless Markets from Penton, where he was the Vice President of User Intelligence and Branding. In that role Lou was responsible all user acquisition, retention and data collection, where he oversaw a staff of 12 marketers across 30 brands. Prior to Penton, he was Executive Director of Marketing at Euromoney/Institutional Investor, where he transformed their print hedge fund products into a single digital offering that increased online revenue opportunities. In the years prior to Euromoney, Lou was the Group Director of Banking and Capital Markets at Source Media, where he implemented strategic programs to acquire critical data on online audiences. Prior to Source Media, he was Senior Marketing Manager for America Online. Lou has an MBA from Pace University in International Marketing.

Marie Griffin

Marie Griffin, Director of Content Strategy

Marie Griffin has extensive experience engaging business audiences with content and events, as a B-to-B editor, content strategist, business reporter, event creator, conference producer and entrepreneur. At Boundless Markets, Marie will be developing and implementing high-quality content-centered projects, from research reports and webinars to social media programs.

In 2011, Marie was Vice President of Content and Programming at American Business Media (prior to its acquisition last year by SIIA). She led the programming efforts for ABM’s Annual Meeting and Executive Forum that year and co-planned the January 2012 B-to-B Advanced Leadership Program at Kellogg/Medill, Northwestern University. She also served on the five-person executive team. From 2005 through 2013, Marie was a contributing editor for B-to-B Media Business, a leading industry resource on business media. Marie specialized in covering the fast-moving and profound changes driving the transformation of business media from its print foundation to the Web, social networks and mobile devices. Among other projects, Marie initiated and implemented Media Business’ 10 Great Media Websites program.

For more than a decade, Marie was a top editor in the retail pharmacy industry, where she was editor-in-chief of Drug Store News (Lebhar-Friedman Publishing) and associate publisher. In addition to leading the re-launch of the company’s web sites, Marie launched a series of events including the Store Specific Marketing Conference, two annual Presidents’ Day forums and a series of conferences in partnership with the National Association of Chain Drug Stores. Prior to that, Marie was acting editor of Retail Pharmacy Management (McMahon Publishing) and editor of 20/20 and Entrée, magazines that covered the eyewear and gourmet housewares industries respectively. Marie is a cum laude graduate of Fordham College, Fordham University.
